Change machine ID

With this function you can replace a previously used machine ID with a new one. All tables who features the field machine ID will be replaced. When you use this function some further assistance will be required in order for the system to be able to deal with the new machine ID, for instance, the Balthzar collector must be adjusted, therefore it is highly recommended that you use this function with extra care.

It is important to know that that screen which previously was used to show eTouch for the old machine ID will not work properly after the switch to a new machine ID. A workaround for this problem is to switch machines in eTouch before you switch machine ID:s in Client. After you have switched machine ID:s in Client you go back to eTouch and switch machines so you get the machine with the new machine ID. If you miss this step eTouch will not work properly and the interface will not be properly translated.

If this happens you need to click on the logo in the top right corner and after that log in again. eTouch will be restarted and will automatically load the first available machine the company has. However it is possible that it is the companys first machine you want to change machine ID on. if that is the case you have to edit two files balthzar_touch_ini.txt and [username]_balthzar_touch_ini.txt  and you also have to change the current machine ID to the new one. As standard machine ID will be located in row number four in the above listed files.

In the left column you will see a list of available machines, with additional description of theese machines.

In the right column you will see a window where you are supposed to enter the new machine ID.

IMPORTANT: You are NOT supposed to enter a description here, if that needs to be changed you will do it later in Admin and maintaince of machine data.

Go to "Client" -> "Administration" -> "System settings" -> "Basic data" -> "Machines".

Please note

It is important to note that a change of machine ID is expected to be quite time consuming. It is dependant on how long the machine has been used historically. This is why a mail will be sent to the active user when the procedure is finished and you can review the result.

It is therefore strongly recommended that the active user has a valid email adress when this function is activated in order to ensure the completion of this function. If for some reason you think that this function has not been properly performed or was somehow interrupted it is recommended that you contact Delacroy for further assistance.
