Example of creating activity

The following is an example of how you can create an scheduled activity with a checklist and type.

After that, we will tie it to a stop work order event.

First, start balthzar client and go to Tools -> Options. In the administration window go to Internal Activity -> Type.

Follow the steps in the type section  to create an type called Machine maintenance with function Performed at machine. This will allow us to receive a warning in eTouch that this activity have been created.

Next, go to Internal Activity -> Checklist.

Follow the steps in the  checklist section  to create a checklist called Machine maintenance with some lines. You can use PDF files for the checklist or the lines if needed. By creating a checklist we can guarantee that the user will perform all the necessary steps needed for the machine maintenance. We will also get confirmation from the user that he indeed did do them.

Now, we want to create a schedule for this activity. To do this, go to Internal Activity -> Schema.

We want this activity to be scheduled after the machine has done 1000 cycles, regardless of what order is running. Follow the steps in the schedule section  to create a schedule called Each 1000 cycles of type amount. Set the counter value to cycles and enter 1000 as amount.

We are now ready to create the activity using the type, checklist and schedule we just created. Go to Internal Activity -> Action .

Follow the steps in the actions section to create an internal activty called Machine maintenance. Leave Part no., Operation number, Duration, Pre Create abd Tools empty. In the machine list, select the machine you want to schedule maintenance for. If you want to schedule it for several machines, set it to All and if needed further narrow down the machine selection using Department, Zone and Category. Selected the newly created checklist, type and schedule. Don't select any rule and set check the Active box. Since we want to be able to manually start a maintenance activity in case something happens, check the start manually box as well. We want to know who did the maintenance and we also want it to be an authorized balthzar user, hence select User with verification as authentication.

Thats it! Balthzar will nog schedule a machine maintenance activity for each 1000th cycles the machine performs.

However, we also want it to be scheduled when the machine(s) stop a work order aswell.

To do this, go to Internal Activity -> Events and follow the instructions on the event section  to tie the internal activity and the stop work order event. Leave Part no. and Tools as <All>. Select the machine you created the activity for in the previous step. Select the internal activity called Machine maintenance and the Event called Stop production order and make sure the active box is checked.

Now, Balthzar will also create this activity when a work order is started.
